In the spring of 2025, one of my assignments was to break down the needs of a local nonprofit and come up with a way to help meet those needs. 

I chose a local nonprofit called “Rahab’s Haven,” whose mission is to minister to those at risk or victimized by sexual exploitation. 

After creating a plan and a promotional video, the class was finished… but the project was not. 

What started as a school project turned into a real event. I created the “Summer Heat” pickleball tournament as a fundraiser for Rahab’s Haven and began to promote it around town, online, and by word of mouth. 

Through God’s grace, he worked in four miraculous ways:

1. We had the opportunity to share the gospel and tell people about Rahab Haven’s new residency program.

2. He brought 12 doubles teams to play

3. He gave us great, sunny weather! 

4. By simply playing pickleball, we were able to raise $400.
